2023 Brandt WITOS-Paving RoadScan
Vögele’s non-contacting RoadScan temperature-measurement system ensures that temperatures stay consistent on freshly paved asphalt, delivering higher-quality results for the road construction sector. Operators can continuously monitor the temperature of the supplied mix through the duration of the job, allowing them to make any adjustments on the go. Once the job is complete, they can furnish detailed evidence that the temperature was maintained within the correct range – thanks to the recorded GPS data, including precise tracking.
Features may include:
High-Precision Infrared Camera- The high-precision infrared camera is a key component of the Vögele RoadScan system. It scans the asphalt pavement behind the screed over the entire area while a high-precision GPS receiver records the exact position of the temperature data. Influencing parameters are then documented and a pyrometer measures the base temperature before paving. All of these features combined ensure a high-quality finished product with little room for errors.
Simple Operation with ErgoPlus3- RoadScan is installed on the roof of the Vögele “Dash 3” paver and does not require further adjustments. It is immediately ready for operation as soon as it is connected, resulting in little downtime training operators.
- The system is conveniently activated from the operator’s ErgoPlus3 console where they can view the scanned temperatures and real-time data on a colour display. If the operator notices an incorrect temperature, they can easily correct it, ensuring high paving quality.
Analysis and Documentation- RoadScan saves measured data directly on the operator’s ErgoPlus3 console allowing information to be easily accessed at the jobsite. After paving, data can be taken off with a specially designed memory stick that transfers data in encrypted form, protecting any sensitive information. Data can then be analysed in an office setting with the RoadScan Analysis web application. Clearly arranged graphs and charts allow teams to make any improvements before future projects.
